HOW OUR TWO-HOUR SCREENPLAY WAS TURNED INTO EIGHT HOURS OF GREAT TELEVISION
When it comes to a career in show business, if you persist, every ten years something wonderful will happen! In this informative and fun workshop, Jaffe Cohen, pioneering stand-up comedian, (Funny Gay Males) will speak about how he and his writing partner, Michael Zam, wrote the screenplay Best Actress just for fun, how it miraculously became one of the hottest un-produced scripts of the year, how they sold it to Ryan Murphy to make as a feature, and how, together, they turned it into Feud: Bette and Joan, an award winning TV show on FX network, that’s changing the way Hollywood thinks of casting mature actresses. Along with some great insights about Hollywood, Jaffe—currently teaching screenwriting at Purchase College in update NY—will discuss screenwriting technique (the Hero’s Journey) and how he’s now modifying this approach to write for television.
