Julie Kane

Julie Kane, a former Louisiana Poet Laureate, is Professor Emeritus of English at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches. With Grace Bauer, she co-edited Nasty Women Poets: An Unapologetic Anthology of Subversive Verse (Lost Horse Press, 2017). Julie’s poetry books include Rhythm & Booze, a National Poetry Series winner, and Jazz Funeral, which won the Donald Justice Poetry Prize. Her poems have appeared in more than sixty anthologies including Best American Poetry 2016.
