Angel Adams Parham

Angel Adams Parham is Associate Professor of Sociology at Loyola University-New Orleans.  Her research addresses the ways communities and cultures of the U.S. South and the Caribbean have been mutually constituted by transnational flows of people and ideas. This interest produces work that seeks to enlarge our understanding of what it means to be “American.” Her most recent book is American Routes: Racial Palimpsests and the Transformation of Race (Oxford, 2017).
