Kent Wascom

Kent Wascom was born in New Orleans and grew up in the Florida panhandle. He is the author of three novels: The Blood of Heaven (2013), Secessia (2015), and The New Inheritors (2018). His first novel, The Blood of Heaven, was named a best book of the year by the Washington Post and NPR. His third novel, The New Inheritors, was published in July 2018 by Grove Atlantic. In 2012 Wascom was awarded the Tennessee Williams/New Orleans Literary Festival Prize for Fiction. His nonfiction has appeared in Guernica and the Literary Hub, among others. He lives in Louisiana.
