THE TIN MEN: EARLY AMERICAN POP AND FATS WALLER
Described by Rolling Stone as “a uniquely funky power trio,” The Tin Men combine the unlikely instrumentation of sousaphone, washboard, and guitar to form one of New Orleans’ most originally entertaining groups. Performing together since 2002, Washboard Chaz, Matt Perrine, and Alex McMurray explore a truly eclectic array of 20th Century American music, from jug band to heavy metal and beyond. For this year’s Festival, they focus on pop music of the 1920s and 30s, with a special emphasis on the music of Fats Waller.
