Jack Davis was reporter or editor at New Orleans newspapers from 1972-83: Figaro, The States-Item and the Times-Picayune. At Tribune Company 1983-2007, he was Chicago Tribune metropolitan editor and CEO/publisher of the Hartford Courant in Connecticut and of The Daily Press in Virginia. He was vice president of Chicago Metropolis 2020, a planning organization, 2007-2008. A graduate of Harvard College, he was a Knox Fellow at the University of Rajasthan and a Professional Journalism Fellow at Stanford. He was a board member of the Congress for the New Urbanism and is trustee emeritus of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. He and his wife Mimi live in New Orleans, where he is interim executive director of the Preservation Resource Center of New Orleans.
