Peggy L. Fox

Peggy L. Fox was Tennessee Williams’s last editor, with a play at the printer when Williams died in 1983. She worked closely with New Directions founder James Laughlin from 1975 until his death in 1997 and is his co-literary executor and a Trustee of the New Directions Ownership Trust. Peggy began work at New Directions in 1975 handling contracts, copyrights, and foreign rights. She became Senior Editor in 1983, Vice-president in 1994, and President and Publisher in 2004, retired in 2011.
