Originally from Minnesota, Jacey Mitziga double-majored in English writing and Psychology at Concordia College before receiving an M.S. in Publishing from NYU. Prior to joining DeFiore and Company, she held internships at the National Book Foundation, W.W. Norton & Company, The Zoë Pagnamenta Agency, and Flatiron Books. She is a volunteer for the National Book Foundation. Jacey is primarily drawn to literary fiction and upmarket commercial fiction, with a particular interest in underrepresented voices, writing with a strong sense of place and heart. She is also interested in memoir, narrative non-fiction in the categories of politics and current affairs, history, sociology, and deep-dive journalism. She is ever longing to learn more, broaden her perspective, and to be driven to think more deeply.
