David Kaplan

David Kaplan is co-founder and curator of the Provincetown Tennessee Williams Theater Festival, now in its 21st year. The author of Tennessee Williams in Provincetown (2006) and Tenn Years (2015), he has written about Williams for Brazil’s Revista Dramaturgia em Foco, The Tennessee Williams Annual Review, and Methuen’s Modern American Drama.  Kaplan has staged plays by Williams worldwide since 1973, most recently, This Property is Condemned at Provincetown Town Hall (2025). He is currently completing Weirder than Weird, a book about Williams sci-fi fantasy writing—plays, poems, and fiction—tracked back to the influence and inspiration of Weird Tales magazine.
