David Kaplan

David Kaplan is curator and co-founder of the Provincetown Tennessee Williams Theater Festival, now in its 18th season. Since 1993, he has staged plays by Williams around the world, including Russia, Hong Kong, Ghana, and Uruguay. In 2022, David staged The Rose Tattoo in a big top circus tent for the Tennessee Williams Festival in St. Louis. He is the author of Tennessee Williams in Provincetown (2006) and, most recently, Shakespeare, Shamans, and Show Biz: An Impolite Guide to Theater History (2021).
