Tom Mitchell

Tom Mitchell is chair of acting for the University of Illinois Department of Theatre where he has directed all of Tennessee Williams’s early full-length plays. In New Orleans, he has presented Interior: Panic, St. Louis Stories, Goat Song, and other works as part of the Scholars Conference. Mitchell edited the previously unpublished “Why Did Desdemona Love the Moor?” for the Tennessee Williams Annual Review and adapted it for performance at the Provincetown Tennessee Williams Festival. He curates scholarly presentations for the Tennessee Williams Festival St. Louis and is currently working on a collection of Williams’s short fiction.
