Colm Tóibín

Colm Tóibín was born in Ireland in 1955. He is the author of eleven novels, including The Master, winner of the Los Angeles Times Book Prize; Brooklyn, winner of the Costa Book Award; and The Magician, winner of the Rathbones Folio Prize; two collections of stories, and several books of criticism. His latest novel is Long Island, the sequel to his prize-winning, bestselling novel Brooklyn. He has been three times shortlisted for the Booker Prize. In 2021, he was awarded the David Cohen Prize for Literature. He is the Irene and Sidney B. Silverman Professor of the Humanities at Columbia University and was appointed the Laureate for Irish Fiction 2022-2024. Tóibín lives in Dublin and New York.
