Dr. Michael S.D. Hooper

Dr. Michael S.D. Hooper, the current president of the International Tennessee Williams Society (ITWS), is an independent scholar and private tutor based in the UK who has appeared on several Scholars Conference and Festival panels. He is the author of Sexual Politics in the Work of Tennessee Williams: Desire over Protest (CUP, 2012) and of various pieces for the Tennessee Williams Annual Review, including a review of Early Stories by Tennessee Williams that will appear in this year’s edition. Hooper is currently co-authoring The Plastic Theatre of Tennessee Williams: Expressionist Drama and the Visual Arts with Henry Schvey, which is to be published by Edinburgh University Press.
