Alex Jennings was born in Wiesbaden, Germany to foreign service parents. Since then, he’s lived in Botswana, Surinam, Tunisia, and all over the United States. For most of his adult life, he’s lived in New Orleans, and his city expresses itself over and over through his fiction, poetry, and nonfiction. He graduated from The University of New Orleans, and for five years, emceed and co-produced a popular literary-readings series called Dogfish. He’s worked as a short-order cook, a nonprofit fundraiser, a teacher of both adults and children, an actor, and a stand-up comic.
