
Joan Larkin
Joan Larkin’s sixth book of poems, Old Stranger, was published in August by Alice James Books. Her previous books include Blue Hanuman; Lambda winner Cold River; and My Body: New and Selected Poems, recipient of the Audre Lorde Award. Joan co-founded Out & Out Books during the 1970s feminist literary explosion and co-edited Gay and Lesbian Poetry in Our Time, among other anthologies. Her work includes Sor Juana’s Love Poems, co-translated with Jaime Manrique; Glad Day: Meditations for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender People; and The AIDS Passion, a verse play. She received the Poetry Society of America’s Shelley Memorial Award.
