
Richon May
Richon May is a New Orleans-based director, producer, actor, teacher, and Goat in the Road ensemble member. Directing credits with the company include the upcoming Gallatin Street, Carlota: the Musical (2024 workshop production), and The Family Line (winner: Big Easy Theater Award for Best Directors). She was one of the lead creative artists and performers in Top 5 Survival Moves, March 2024. She is a lead teaching artist with the company and directs and coordinates the touring Goat in the Schools program. Richon started her career at the St. Louis Black Rep, receiving multiple main stage credits, while also teaching and managing teen programs for the company. New Orleans credits include Flowers for Halie (Director), Mother Courage (Co-director), All The Way (Assistant Director), and August Osage County (Assistant Director) with Southern Rep; and Eurydice (Co-Director), Single Black Female (Kennedy Center Citizen’s Artist Award), and Hoodoo Love with University of New Orleans (UNO). Richon has a BA in Speech communication and theater arts from Dillard University, and an MFA from UNO with a concentration in theater direction. She is passionate about working with the youth, and impacting students’ lives.
